Thomas Ramsden Ashworth (1864-1935) was an Australian publicist and architect. At the age of seventeen he worked as a carpenter and builder, and studied architecture in Melbourne. From 1898 until 1902 he was the president of the Victorian division of the Free Trade and Liberal Association. In the Legislative Assembly he remained consistent to the principles which he published in a book written with his brother H. P. C. Ashworth (c1865-? ) entitled Proportional Representation Applied to Party Government (1901). He was the chairman of the canister- makers' section of the Chamber of Manufactures in 1910-17. In 1916 he was elected a fellow of the Royal Victorian Institute of Architects and was also a founder of several companies including the Union Can Co. and was for many years a director of Bussell, Robson Pty Ltd, clothiers. He was the president of the Victorian Employers' Federation in 1920-34. He founded the Employers' Federation Insurance Co. Ltd in 1927 and chaired its board of directors.
