This is the diary of Maria Elisabetha Eschbach, a ten-year-old girl growing up during the Stamp Act of 1765 in Williamsburg, Virginia. It's 1765 and the whole town of Williamsburg, Virginia, is shaken up over the news of a new tax that England has put on the colonies. Maria and her family go through times of trouble and worry with many changes coming to her life along the way, but she learns to find hope despite everything. As Maria goes though life, she goes though a journey with her friends, family and the enemy to many, England.
