Based on real-life experience in teaching hospitals, Call HO is a novel that explores the excitement, brutality, and horror of surgical training in the United States. Four surgical interns struggle to deliver the best health care possible while navigating a minefield of incompetent superiors, belligerent patients, and stifling bureaucracy. Nothing they learned in medical school has prepared them for the difficult choices they must now make.
