Budgeting for Building Construction Projects

This implementation guide of the Uniformat II standard for construction budgets is based on the experience of the author, who has over 1000 construction projects to his credit, representing several millions of dollars. This guide describes an organized approach, useful in the development of a cost estimate. This method will ensure not only to improve the exactitude of the budgets, but also to increase their usefulness as a project management tool in the cost control. It will result in an organized and detailed project budget which will support the intentions of the owner regarding the design criteria and the costs relating to them.
