Have you ever tried living a lie? I'm not talking about living with the fact that you have embezzled funds from the company that you worked for but the kind of lie that would devastate all those around you. Not like living with AIDS and that you willfully infected a few people, but the kind of lie that would change the course of who you were and who people thought you were. The kind of lie that could change the very essence of your society and it could very well suspend all the things that those around you hold dear and true. Not the type of lie in which you fabricate birth records, cheat on taxes or literally have bodies buried under the floor boards in your home. I'm talking about the kind of lie that could not only allow you to mislay everything that you worked extremely hard for but a lie that could cause you to be shunned from your community or become an outcast from society if found out. This particular lie could lead to your death and no one would even bother to convict the murderer. This is what Kitty was dealing with; an everyday struggle of maintaining to be the woman that she worked so hard to pretend to be.
