Slavery in America: A Story of Love and Friendship

The story shows it doesn't matter where you came from or how you started out, but that hard work and education will always get you through. It tells about the life of Missikeba kembola a young African girl who was adopted by an American couple. The couple brought her to America to be their maid not telling their kids that they legally adopted her, while they treated her badly she was befriended by their kids, twins- Malik and Malika who felt sorry for her and told her that the only way to get out of her current situation was by educating herself, not being allowed to attend school the twins took on the task of teaching her to read and write and teaching her everything that they learned in school. When the twins learns the truth of the adoption they called their grandmother who came to New York and not only rescued Missikeba but took the twins as well and moved all three kids to live with her in California.

Missikeba was allowed to attend school in California, and went on to graduating from Stanford University and being accepted in to Harvard Medical School.

While attending Harvard Missikeba encounters a young homeless girl who turns out to be her sister, who was also adopted by an American family and ran away to save herself from the abuse she encountered at the hands of her adoptive family son.
