This collection of forty lyrical poems explores themes as diverse as the beauty of the natural world to struggling with cancer. Greek mythology, Bible stories and folklore provide sources for the texts. The poems range from the personal to the universal, from the humorous to the spiritual, from the narrative to the dream-like. Besides the twenty sonnets with their strict metrical and rhyming scheme, there is a collection of free verse, as well as one formal sestina.
