Anna Baker is a young woman with a love for Pavarotti, Merlot, and art. Anna is also an overwieght virgin and camera-snapping city street spy. It's summer break for Anna, and it will begin peacefully while she creates a beautiful; papier-mache statue of a man, but Anna will soon become consumed by her work, and when the statue is complete, that is when her dark journey truly begins. Matthew is the sexy waiter at Anna's local coffee shop hangout; he is her only friend and secret love interest. Anna will try to reveal the truth to Matthew, but she will find out that Matthew has some secrets of his own. This is a haunting story full of humor and light, as Anna's obsessive habits and secrets leave her lost and alone. Summer will come to an end and Anna must return to her eighth grade students, but will Anna take things too far, will she be able to return to school, or if she does return will she return as the teacher she always feared her students thought her to be?
