Stiking Similarities Join the Quran and the USA Constitution examines how the Quran may have influenced the U.S. Constitution. The Quran obviously predates the Constitution. Both works are intended for a universal audience. The Constitution and the Quran each address ''the people,'' meaning the entire population: men, women, and children. Both texts have similar concerns, as well. Moreover, ''Both 'constitutions' share many other issues and concerns; among them are peace, security, judgment and petition, witnessing and saying the truth, trust and trustworthiness, freedom of faith, sharing and brotherhood, democratic way of life; [ shura ], equality, responsibility; owning property, liberty and freedom, citizenship and humanity, forgiveness and patience.''

In examining the documents that form the foundation of American and Muslim law, I hope to show the reader just how similar they are.
