The Distance of Time

One woman's life is portrayed as she embraces a deep, abiding first love for the first time. The loss she feels when they are forced to part sends her spiraling down into alcoholism.

Starting anew in a different location and continuing her career, love finds her again. She marries and makes a home and a family with him, only to tragically lose him also. She still has her sons, one of whom was adopted, and she carries on for them.

Finally, accepting her losses, she takes a ''retreat'' time for herself to rethink her life and unexpectedly finds her first love again.
