Red at Night

Red at Night takes place during the era the U. S. Navy was making the switch from diesel to nuclear power. Old diesel boat sailors will find the story a beautiful cross between reality and fiction; and fans of tall ships, tall tales, and life at sea will find the journal-type narrative fascinating.

The author has tried to keep his story as accurate as possible when it deals with the operation and description of the diesel submarine. He also freely admits that although his story is based upon fact, he may have lost the ability to discern between fact and fiction because of all the sea stories he has so often related as truth.

A glossary of Navy words, terminology, and submarine expressions is included, as well as photographs.
