The Madding Crowd, Caricatures & Commentary from the Pages of The Advocate, 1978-1984

To every biweekly edition of national gay magazine The Advocate — from issue No. 244 through No. 378, 1978-1984 — artist/writer Dennis Forbes contributed a “box” feature titled “The Madding Crowd,” consisting of the caricatures of historical, political, social and entertainment personalities who recently had made news in a gay-related context, most of these accompanied by amusing, often-biting commentary. All 134 “Crowds” are gathered here for the first time.
