George Pratt Day

A car rolls over in the median of the interstate just outside Tecumcari, New Mexico. Among the rescue workers who come to the aid of the driver and his wife is the fraternal twin of the driver's roommate from college. His brother was killed in a car accident many years earlier with the driver, George Pratt, at the wheel. Thus begins an allusive journey through the intersections of national and personal history, through attempts to deal with sin, confession, and redemption. Along the way, we meet a diverse group of characters all coming to terms with the past and the invisible present. Part satire on the excesses of the 1980s, part exorcism of ghosts both public and private, George Pratt Day is the first novel from M. Arturo Fincus.
