A ndrews, who secured the aid of Dr. Felix Kriiger of the department of philosophy of the University of Leipzig in the matter of psychological terms; Dr. Max Lisner also lent valuable aid. Professor William E. Dodd, of Randolph-M acon College, Virginia, gave the whole a careful revision. To all of these both the author and the translator take this means of expressing their hearty thanks.
