In presenting our annual report for 1908 we are carrying out the plan laid out by the Commission and the Curator, to make the Museum reports on the ~ame plan as the Museum was established-purely educational. This report treats of the "Birds of New Jersey, t.heir Nests and Eggs." We feel that no subject could be taken for the report that would be more interesting and benef~cial in the cause of education than this. It will educate the children to love and protect their winged friends, not destroy them. The subject-matter of "The Birds, their Nests and Eggs," has been prepared by }.fl'. Witmer Stone, Curator of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia, a gentleman having a national reputation as a naturalist. His authority on this subject is surpassed by none.
