Utopia

Sir Thomas More's Utopia describes a fictional island in the Atlantic Ocean, possessing a seemingly perfect socio-politico-legal system. More coined the word "utopia" - a name he gave to the ideal, imaginary island nation whose political system he described in Utopia.

Ironically, More's own life was less than utopian, as he was imprisoned and executed in 1535 after he had fallen out of favor with King Henry VIII of England.
