Strengthening of global cooperation was the underlying theme of the 46th Munich Security Conference. More than 300 high-ranking participants from the political, scientific, economic and military spheres came together to discuss the urgent challenges of the 21st century in the fields of foreign and security policy. This year's conference centered on issues relating to the future of Euro-Atlantic security and global disarmament and, as a first-time addition to the agenda, energy and resource security. "No more excuses!" was chosen as the motto of the conference, which was overshadowed by the controversy over Iran's nuclear program.
