The seven billion people of the Clarke Belt Cities are desperately seeking ways to return to their homes on the ground, after being stranded in Geostationary Earth Orbit by the cutting down of their centrifugally-supported space escalator by which they had temporarily migrated to cities built up there, to live in while the Earth's ecosystem was being cleansed and jump-started back to a long-term viable condition again.
