Unfettered by corporate controls, pioneering D.J.'s would spin virtually anything onto the airwaves. They would provide a Hi Fidelity outlet for Rock music that didn't fit the A.M. Top 40, 2 1/2 minute commercial paradigm.The Rock and Roll music immortalized by these pre-corporate programmers has become the Classic Rock of today.
