In Heretical Rites, Evan Janzek moves away from his computer on a quest to find the killer of a young co-ed. While his amateur detective work begins as little more than a hobby, he quickly finds himself caught in the middle of a conflict between mankind and the Desidaria, beings whose relationship with the spiritual universe provides them with unique insight, extraordinary physical powers and a different perspective on love, life, and the desire that drives all things. On a collision course are Matthew, a fallen pastor with a passion to destroy the Desidaria, supermodel Desidaria Pamela Renauld, and Marlo and Delamia, two renegade Desidaria whose past experiences with humans have put them at war with everything that has a soul. In the middle of this unusual, irreconcilable triangle of those seeking revenge, harmony, and amusement, Evan reluctantly fights his everyday fears of other people and unfamiliar experiences only to venture into a world where more than his life is at stake.
