The Healing One: Book One of The Dreamwalker Trilogy

The Healing One begins the Dreamwalker Trilogy with the story of Bright Star, a teenage girl living in the northern Arizona high desert in A.D. 1200. Guided by a golden eagle, she dreamwalks for the first time and enters another reality: a spirit world. In this new world, Bright Star finds her injured father and is able to bring him help. She doubts her dream, but explains it to her clan s Healing One, a medicine woman who is also her grandmother. Her grandmother recognizes Bright Star s dreamwalking as a sign that she will one day replace her as the Healing One for the people. But when Bright Star s father dies in spite of the healing rituals performed, she refuses to learn the healing ways. Her dreamwalks continue until she reluctantly promises to journey into the desert to save a dying girl. This dangerous journey changes Bright Star s life forever.
