The House of Covenant

Western civilization has long forgotten the power of blood covenants, its enormous benefits and unchangeable and severe requirements. Societies around the world from the American Indians and even the Mafia based much of their culture and history on blood covenants. In many countries around the world marriage used to be a blood covenant. In the bible God establishes a blood covenant with Abraham. King David, before he was king and Jonathan, the son of Saul and heir to the throne of Israel, cemented their friendship with a lesser form of covenant. Even the Last Supper with Jesus and the Apostles has been characterized as the establishing of a blood covenant. In the Book of Revelation Jesus is prophesied to return as the "avenger of blood" a covenant requirement. The House of Covenant is set among a Federation of Planets somewhere in space and somewhere in time. The Federation is held together and maintained in peace through a blood covenant. Captain Jared Tricantor and his Executive Officer, Nalen Pal, operate a Merchant Marine freighter, named the Fidelis, and travel throughout the Covenant Planets. Seeking only prosperity and professional advancement in their predictable lives they find themselves at the center of an interplanetary war caused by the breaking of the Covenant through murder and then genocide.
