Thomas Alexander builds a robot, Phil, designed to help him with his social life. It does, sort of, introducing him to Kevin Bowker, an aspiring writer with an enormous trust fund, and the girl of his dreams, a psychology student from the local university. Things are looking up for Thomas, until his new friends turn his life upside down.
