Dante and Me: A Journey

This historical fiction book follows Dante Alighieri during his years in exile in the early fourteenth century in Italy, accompanied by a young orphan boy, Benito. The young reader is introduced to Italian landscape, Italian sculpture and architecture, and Italian poetry-- especially The Divine Comedy. Through Benito the reader can identify with a universal coming-of-age theme, as the boy matures and eventually becomes a scribe in his own right, after many dangerous and exhilarating encounters.
