The Nothing and Everything Equation

Archie Pollan's sleepy, geeky existence unravels when his father, Dr. Thomas Pollan, simultaneously discovers The Equation of Absolute Perfection and suffers a nervous breakdown that leads to his sudden death. In the wake of her husband's demise, Mrs. Pollan takes Archie and his traumatized little sister to India where Mrs. Pollan falls under the spell of a dynamic cult leader who claims he can cure her daughter. After a clash between Archie and the cult leader, Archie is thrown off the compound and finds himself alone in a foreign land. As he travels through India, Archie encounters Kuma, a reluctant, sharp-dressed guru with a less than perfect past, who teaches Archie how to find beauty in the sorrows and absurdities of life. Meanwhile, back in America, The Equation of Absolute Perfection is changing every aspect of American life and two factions are being formed: the Pro-Perfects and the Anti-Perfects. With Kuma's guidance and a wink from a mysterious, balloon animal shaping ladies' man, Archie discovers The Nothing and Everything Equation, which could change everything... or nothing.
