Lifting the Veil

In May 2005, I'd been a psychotherapist for over twenty-five years when a forty-two-year-old woman entered my office, seeking counseling to cope with her husband's death. This evolved into treatment with someone who was extremely depressed, actively suicidal, and had a secret she wanted no one to discover: Francine had multiple personalities. This book is a gripping account of her deepest, darkest thoughts and feelings, and how her multiple personalities clashed and ruled her world. It's also an intimate portrait of my own journey and how my religious beliefs, originally as a devout Roman Catholic, and approach to spirituality and psychotherapy evolved over five years. This book explores the battle we all have within us between the dark and the light-the battle for our souls.
