Description
Transgressions is a novel in the form of a diary kept by a young man from Woodstock, Vermont, who in 1934 begins his undergraduate studies at Trinity College, Cambridge. In Book I he studies languages, history and art history; travels in Europe and after graduation works at a museum in London and writes about politics. In Book II, during the Second World War, he works for a time as part of the enterprise associated with the code-breakng efforts at Bletchley Park, and then for another, less well-known enterprise.
