"The Nazi Regime issued an edict that all Jews must leave Austria no later than November 9, 1938; declaring that those remaining would be taken to concentration centers for redistribution. Many refused to believe that Hell stood on the horizon. It was beyond all human comprehension that “concentration centers” would be death camps for millions upon millions of people.

What made some people take the threat seriously enough to RUN FOR THEIR LIVES?

The Nazi’s wanted us to leave, but the world locked its doors, shutting us out. No one wanted the responsibility of taking on homeless refugees that came with nothing and needed everything.

PRISMS OF LIGHT, REFLECTIONS OF SHATTERED GLASS chronicles my family’s flight from the Holocaust and how it affected everything in our lives from then on.

With the passage of time, I have become unique, a dying breed. I was a victim of Nazi oppression. I witnessed, first hand, that fateful time when the world went mad.

I remember how our family “lived our lives” through unforgettable time, despite hardships, despite heartaches. In those years the human spirit became more important than life itself.
