The Freedom of True Love

The Gospel of Jesus Christ which the author, Fr. Frank Wagner, O.M.I., has preached for over 50 years is, in his opinion, the way to true freedom. As its message of love and compassion is truly internalized and lived by those claiming to believe it, genuine freedom is realized. Fr. Frank is vitally concerned about the need for those of his Church at all levels to look at themselves honestly, and thus end up stronger in virtuous living as they join together in a supportive Community so that neither the inner addictions nor outside influences will end up transforming the American nation into a society that is no longer free. He attempts to reach out to those in his Church who are major participants in and contributors to the culture of secularity that is the current dominant lifestyle of the people of his country. The book has been judged to be an excellent dissertation on the Lord's difficult teaching of love for the sinner while at the same time being detestful of the sin. In the process, it strongly supports the major themes of the theology of the Second Vatican Council.
