The Shakespeare Deception

Who wrote Shakespeare? The Shakespeare Deception is the story of Laura Fuller, an American graduate student in archeology studying in London in 1989 who makes an intriguing discovery during the excavation of the Rose Theatre. Her follow-up investigations – aided by her flatmate, a PhD candidate in English literature, and her boyfriend, a medical resident -- are interwoven with important events in the life and reign of Elizabeth I in the 16th century, when the Rose was originally built. The students’ detective work turns up priceless, undiscovered documents, and they are pursued by government officials, academics, and traffickers in artifacts of questionable provenance. There are middle-of-the-night explorations and car chases, a crucial discovery at Stratford Upon Avon, and betrayal from unexpected sources.
