Energy and Us

Energy and Us covers all aspects of energy and is aimed at scientists and nonscientists alike. It is a useful guide for busines people, politicians, professeors, students and anyone who wishes to improve his or her general knowledge of the subject. The book discusses energy-related sources, uses, technologies, economics, policies and the environment under the chapter headings: Energy, Petroleum, Natural Gas, Coal, Nuclear, Renewables, Electromagnetism, Sectors, Pollution, Policy. The book relies heavily on the data produced by the Energy Information Administration (EIA), the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS), and other governmental agencies as well as scienticficly oriented publications. A rudimentary knowledge of chemistry would be helpful (but not necessary) and the book contains an appendix on the history and science of energy for those who would like a brief review of basic science.
