In The Adventures of a Young Man Book I, Lance served on the U.S.S. Runner, SS 476. During fleet exercises in the Atlantic, he was injured and ended up in the hospital on the U.S. Navel Base in Rota, Spain in October of 1959. In Book II we follow Lance through a harrowing encounter with Generalissimo Franco’s thugs in Spain, and his romantic entanglement with beautiful Señorita Rosita. Lance returns to the U.S.S. Runner and ends up participating in a Top Secret Cold War operation that takes him literally to the Russian shores of the Black Sea. Spice is added to the adventurous tale when this handsome, sea fearing young sailor pulls a three day liberty in Paris, France with a former girl friend.
