The Sky Watching Trader

The Babylonian astronomers used to observe the sky systematically and to keep their records on clay tablets filled with entries of their daily observations. A typical tablet contained information about astronomical phenomena such as the Moon Cycle, Eclipses, First Appearances and Last Appearances of the Planets, Solstices, Equinoxes and also weather records, river levels and commodity prices. According to market analyst and author Diego Ratti the Babylonian scribes thought that there was a connection between the planetary phenomena that they observed and the price of some commodities. In his new book Sky Watching Trader he tries to rediscover this lost knowledge offering practical examples and a theory to describe and explain the mysterious connection between prices and planets.
