Hope Room

On New Year's Day of 2010, Kim and Chris Rowe were given the news that their four year-old son, Gavin, had leukemia. Hope Room chronicles Kim's struggles with suddenly becoming a cancer mom with an emotional honesty that is at times heart-breaking, funny, and self-deprecating, but always moving. She writes about how a four year-old perceives his treatment and hospital stays, as well as how she transitioned from parent to makeshift nurse, pharmacist, insurance battler, record keeper, and advocate while more than occasionally losing her grip on her sanity.
