Palmettoes and Moonbeams: (Carolina Vignettes)

This collection of short stories compiled over many years is a reflection of my formative years in the Deep South and experiences in the military in my late teens and early twenties. In them, I endeavor to capture the essence of the times as they unfolded in the sixties and seventies in a southern setting. The seedier elements of society play a prominent role, for it is in this seamy nether world of hard knocks and construction work with my friends, some from the dark side, that I came of age. As I tread the path of the prodigal, the lure of the night-lights held sway over me in my youthful naivete. In my brief work of fiction entitled: ""Church Street,"" set in the late fifties, I endeavor to make the street itself the protagonist, a novel approach to the genre. Let the street speak; let it come alive.
