Goal Line

For many years, author Henry Jenkins has struggled with depression stemmed from his outlook on living his life stuck in his wheelchair. In the early 1990s, a diagnosis of Friedreich's Ataxia was confirmed. The disease is marked by depression, spastic muscles, and slowness and slurring of speech. Since 2002, he has been mostly confined to his home and his wheelchair and is unable to do much by himself. Yet, he lives his life and writes for the glory of God. In Goal Line, he explores some of the difficulties faced in life against the backdrop of scripture. He addresses a plethora of topics such as death, dying, physical limitations, and the role of God in our lives. He also provides a discussion and Biblical foundation for his thought. In this memoir, Jenkins speaks to the weaknesses and the strengths that each person possesses as they endeavor to live out the Bible on a daily basis. Goal Line communicates that with faith and trust in God, anything is possible.
