The Gingrich Curse

Harry and Kate, typical high school teens, live in the Amish farm country of Pennsylvania. The teens fall in love at first sight in their sophomore year unaware that a predator stalks Kate. The killer surfaces to claim a victim every few years, his ritual for almost a century. Kate’s father explains to Harry that it is not a human who kidnaps teen girls; it is Evil that rises up and snatches them. Protective Harry makes sure Kate is never alone; they eventually marry and move to Philadelphia out of reach of the predator. Furious, the demonic power plans a revenge that bridges time and returns the Martin family to the beast's mansion along with their two teen daughters, Sara, Rachel and twin toddlers Wesley and Wyatt. History repeats itself when Sara, the spitting image of her mother, falls in love at first meeting with Michael, a teenager who has educated himself and his younger brother Mark in tactics of demon vanquishing but when the churches unite and attempt to exorcise the demon off the Gingrich estate, they suffer a great loss. Angels, called to battle too late, manage to save one teen and hideaway the boys on an Amish farm to be raised by the Moyers. However, evil knows no contentment and wants for a day of reckoning with the enduring Martin who has grown in the love of Christ and is surrounded by a church family. When the battle comes, Evil stands ready to fight the faith power of the remaining Martin woman but not the faith of the now-grown Wesley and Wyatt. Themes of Christian love, respect and family interweave in this contemporary tale of a typical family of good hearted individuals who are so caught up in their success that they forget the originator of good and allow evil to worm its way into their futures. The precise knowledge of God’s ways must join the faith of a child-like heart to allow His grace to conquer evil. In that light, the reader questions if his/her own existence is following God’s blueprint or if complacency, the devil's playground, has manifested itself in their lives and to what extent?
