On the Surgeon's Knife: (Sur le Scalpel du Chirurgian)

"On the Surgeon's Knife" is the first English translation of the notorious Etienne Penseyeux's "Sur le Scalpel du Chirurgian." Penseyeux's narrative reflects the urgency he experiences as madness began to consume him. He is, at once, both surgeon and patient, survivor and fatality. Michael Blitz's translation is faithful to both Penseyeux's content and his self-annihilating prose-style.
