Kate Doyle, gemologist and private investigator, encounters terrorist activity in the new diamond fields of Zimbabwe. Conflict diamonds are being sold to support al Qaeda and Hezbollah in their fight against Western influence. Her partner, Sam Cadbridge, is severely injured in Harare by thugs in the process of setting up a neutral enterprise that will stabilize the market and help the country to submit to the rules of the Kimberley Process.
