Jugni’s life changes the year she turns sixteen. Her grandmother begins a determined search for a bridegroom for her. Her uncle, a village elder, embarks upon an ambitious plan to open the very first school for their tradition-bound Jat community. Her cousin, a soldier in the British India army, is charged with sedition.
