📖 Description
This is the story of my father Reuben Kelly Freedman (1905-1987). He was the most contradictory, paradoxical and in a sense greatest person I have ever known. He certainly suffered more than any person I have ever known. He was a man of tremendous humor and strength, weakness and vulnerability. I tell his story as fully as I can not only as record and remembrance but as plea to God for justice for him in a prayed- for world- to-come. But the story as it is told in all its mixed-up detail is the record of his everyday life and of the world he knew and was a part of, that of the Jewish community and the business world of Troy New York through the greatest part of the twentieth century. My hope is that any reader of this work will understand and appreciate the truly remarkable human being he was, and too understand something about what depths and heights the human being is capable of.
