Summer Storms

Set against the hot, humid, stormy summer backdrop of Phoenix, Arizona in the nineties, this novel takes the reader on a brief excursion into the lives, loves and dramas of four successful women. MARGO SOMMERVILLE: Prosperous, popular real estate broker and candidate for Phoenix City Council running against an undisguised homophobic developer. Currently single, she mentors, finances and is an occasional lover of younger, ambitious women. ANDY BALDWIN: Ex-mortgage banker, current owner/operator of Baldwin Pool Service. She still mourns the untimely death of her life partner, Annie Miller. CYNTHIA KAUFMAN: Owner/operator of the prestigious Kaufman Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona. A closeted lesbian suffering from alcohol abuse, she hopes to make her casual relationship with Andy permanent. STEPHANIE DANVERS: Popular author of police procedural novels and a newcomer to the Central Phoenix community. She almost immediately falls in love with Andy Baldwin. She identifies Margo's opponent as a man wanted in Philadelphia for vehicular homicide, thereby threatening his freedom and putting her life in danger. Summer Storms is the first in a series of four novels featuring this ensemble cast of characters.
