Economic and Personal Liberties: The Eternal, Imperfect Quests of Humanity

The entire expanse of human history can be succinctly, and accurately, described as the dual quests for economic and personal liberties. Fundamentally, these two issues have been the twin driving factors behind every act and thought of all humankind from the birth of the species to the present, and they will continue to be as long as humanity maintains its selfhood. That economic and personal liberties have played such a central role in the growth and development of the species over such an extended timeframe is astounding, but even more astounding is the thought that modern humans are motivated, generally speaking, by exactly the same as their ancestors many millennia prior.
