The Invincible Sisters: The Adventures of Mei and Lacy

Not so long ago, a rumor emerged that China first sailed around the world. What if that was true? What if a woman did it? And what if she found something so incredibly that the whole journey was erased from history? As children, two half-sisters see their family burn. Emotionally torn apart, Mei becomes an isolated young woman, an upside down turtle living in her grandpa’s basement. She has a genius IQ, but has a severe case of acrophobia (fear of open spaces.) To add insult to injury, she also talks to ghosts, specifically to a beautiful ancestor who claims to have found the cure to all diseases. Totally opposite and an epic over achiever, the older Lacy turns out to be a pragmatic doctor with an ego the size of Texas. Mei is unmistakable Asian, Lacy decidedly Caucasian, each on an express elevator going in opposing directions…until tragedy strikes. Their grandpa, the man who kept them together as kids, becomes deathly ill. Love makes families strong, but not indestructible. His death will certainly break the family. As hopes for a recovery fade, a relic from the past conveniently shows up containing a map, a map that promises the cure to all diseases. It seems to be a ghost story come true. With a little spiritual intervention, a terrified Mei and reluctant Lacy put aside their differences. Hoping to heal their family and their own crumbling relationship, the sisters set sail around the Earth. Through ancient cities and forgotten tombs, through love found and love lost, they will struggle with every step. Will they be able to find the cure? Doubtful. But who knows? Sometimes to do the impossible, all it takes is a pair of broken sisters. Nothing stays broken forever.
