That's Life: It's Sexually Transmitted and Terminal

It took more than fifty years of practicing as a physician, until Barry Friedman finally got it right—he became a writer. Six novels and a non-fiction book later, he decided it was time to put together notes he’d been collecting over the years, on napkins and similarly organized scraps of paper. Some of these vignettes (for those who do not speak French, it means “little vigns”) are humorous, and some, like “The Sword is Mightier than the Pen-is,” are sad. But all are true. Okay, embellished. They relate the author’s experiences as a student at NYU School of Medicine, as a Naval Medical Officer during WW II, and during his fifty years as an Orthopaedic Surgeon.
