It has been five years since novelist Jeanette Turner’s best friend, Caleb Polaski, was murdered. Recently, Jeanette has been plagued by a series of nightmares concerning an antique box drifting through space. At first, Jeanette regards these bizarre dreams as nothing more than mere nightmares. However, after Caleb manages to contact her from beyond the grave she learns that the peculiar box is in fact real, and that she is not the only one to have experienced these visions. With more questions than answers, Jeanette is rushed into a top secret mission involving the other “Visionists” and a crew of prejudiced officers. Their goal: retrieve the alien box from the far reaches of the solar system and assess its threat to the human race. What could possibly go wrong? Well, very simply, everything. As the situation deteriorates, Jeanette realizes that she has become entangled in an even larger web, one which may lead to the very end of creation itself.
