Modern Life replete with bad-traffic jams and longings for transcendence beyond the prison bars of Society and One’s own sad Mind. It was in the 1990s, now a decade later and little having changed other than terrorisms, internet neurosis and cyber-space remains more complicated. In this manner this book offers a small coastal town a look back, and the reader a look back--while assures the reader any Reality is only subjective anyway. There is recession, and wife battering, bankruptcies continue, varied addicts abound now, and there was many a 300 lb. women who sucked marshmallows with their cats. The novel’s aboriginal single parent is the only pragmatic face in the whole book; most people having known such faces on some level in daily modern life in North America. Now in 2012 we still know the same daily Life, including cheap fatty hamburger dinner. Now we need a historical document of the slide into this bad Age…something to hand forward for the historians a hundred years hence when the world is truly more screwed up than now—and it all examined in terms of feminism, and the rage of the forgotten decade of the 1990s, Reality, New Age, metaphysical social-commentary, recession… the list was endless--
