📖 Description
This book explains the 802.11ac new Wi-Fi standard by IEEE. It tries to be useful for people who will study or develop software for 802.11ac devices. It is not about a specifc chipset but about the IEEE generic specification, based on the most recent IEEE draft 5 at the time of the writing. The content discusses in details the MAC and PHY layers. As a 802.11ac chipset offers several interfaces to the operating system, those interfaces are treated with attention to details. There is a special attention to channel aggregation, MIMO, MU-MIMO, beam-forming. Nevertheless it tries to be easy to read when possible and it gives much context information. Jean-Pierre had first hand access to 802.11ac information as Orange's delegate to IEEE. He plans to write an enhanced version of this book at a later time.
