We return with Elizabeth—against all odds—to her home in Greenville. She must find her way through upheaval in her family life, bewildering changes as she moves through early adolescence, and uncertain times. She learns that sometimes dreams must grow and change as life goes on. We finish the book where we started the first one, at the end of the school year in the spring, with more adventures on the horizon.
