This is the true story of the Oliver Family between 1945-1963 based on the life of the middle son. The personal stories set the scene for interest and curiosity. The Oliver story shows a life that is different from what is considered normal for that period of time. The family abuse from their father was overlooked and created a story of escape. The escape route was into the military, but that was another trail into disaster. A standard enlistment goes into a trip from goodness to the Pearly Gates. A two year journey travels from a church through two military hospitals and the adventures of each. A new life road is carved from the ashes of foolishness. This is not much to brag about, but it’s a true story.
